Spent a day in the High Sierras for some snow photos. We took the family in the mountains to play in the snow 12/22/2021. The snow level started around the 5000 feet elevation level and got thicker as we went up. Our first stop of the day was at Aspendell which resides at 8409 feet elevation. We stopped at Intake 2 just a little over a half mile down the road from Aspendell. After finishing with the snow in the mountains we stopped by Bishop to visit the famous Schat’s Bakery.
This was a great day to take photos to capture the Sierras when they are white. The Sierras look their best when they are dressed in white. This also gave me the opportunity to capture clouds over the mountains. I packed my Canon EOS R camera and DJI Mavic Air 2 drone in hopes of capturing some great video and photos. I’m glad I packed them both because the situation worked out for both.

Conclusion
Mountains covered with snow is one of my favorite scenes in the mountains. The weather cooperated and created some amazing photo and video opportunities on this trip. If you are interested in the video then please see it in the High Sierras Snow Drone Video.
